From September 1, Denmark-based Maersk Line will enforce a general rate increase on cargo moving from the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East to Europe.

The planned rate increase will be $200 per 20-foot equivalent unit (TEU) and $400 per 40-foot equivalent unit.

The increase is above the $250 per TEU rate increase the carrier applied on the same route from July 1.
