The ICTSI Foundation, Inc. recently completed a rehabilitation project for 10 child care centers in Parola and Isla Puting Bato in Manila, immediate communities of International Container Terminal Services, Inc.’s (ICTSI) flagship terminal, Manila International Container Terminal (MICT).  The project is a facility improvement component of Project AIDE  (Assistance to Improve Day Care Education), which covers renovation of rooms, fabrication of new tables and chairs, and provision of new education materials.  Employee volunteers from MICT’s engineering, operations, anchorage and security departments assisted in the rehabilitation of the child care centers.  Project AIDE was implemented in partnership with the city government of Manila’s social welfare department and local community leaders.  Photo shows project proponents inside one of the renovated centers as they sign turnover and completion documents (seated, from left):  Niño Dela Cruz, city councilor; Filipina Laurena, Foundation deputy executive director; Laura Clemente, social welfare head; Engr.
