German box carrier Hapag-Lloyd announced general rate increases (GRIs) for its East Asia-Latin America services effective the middle of June.
In advisories released today, the Hamburg-based shipping line said it will increase rates for all cargoes and container types from East Asia to the Caribbean, Central America East Coast, and Panama by US$700 per 20-foot-equivalent unit (TEU) and $1,000 per 40-foot-equivalent unit (FEU).
It will also impose a GRI of $750 per TEU for shipments on the East Asia-Mexico/Central America West Coast/South America West Coast trade lane.
Additionally, a rate hike of $500 per TEU will be applied on all cargoes and container types on the East Asia-South America East Coast sling.
The new rates all take effect from June 15.
