Hapag-Lloyd revises Far East-South America route for winter

Hapag-Lloyd announced the revision of its Asia-South America East Coast (ASE) service during the winter season.

The Hamburg-based box carrier said in an official statement on October 8 that the revised winter rotation of the ASE sling starts November 12.

The new service rotation will be Pusan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Santos,  Buenos Aires, Navegantes, Santos, Rio de Janeiro, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Pusan.

Calls to ports omitted in the loop’s winter schedule will be covered by the other services of Hapag-Lloyd.

Meanwhile, the German shipping company said there will be a general rate increase on the United States-Australia and New Zealand trade lane effective next month.

From November 5, rates for all cargoes and all container types from the United States via the USA East Coast and Gulf Coast ports of load to Australia and New Zealand will go up by US$175 per 20-foot-equivalent container and $350 per 40-foot-equivalent container.
