The Federal Maritime Commission (FMC), the maritime regulatory body of the United States,  announced it was accepting further public feedback on the P3 global alliance until November 29, 2013.

The P3 network vessel sharing agreement papers were filed by Maersk Line, CMA CGM, and Mediterranean Shipping Company with the FMC on October 24.

The proposed agreement would authorize the applicants to share vessels and engage in related cooperative operating activities in the trades between Asia, North Europe, and the Mediterranean on the one hand and the U.S. on the other hand, the FMC said in a statement.

“If the FMC takes no action to seek an injunction or to require additional information, the agreement will become effective on Sunday, December 8, 2013,” the commission added.

“Comments should address data and information related to the legal standards embodied in Section 6(g) of the Shipping Act of 1984, as amended by the Ocean Shipping Reform Act of 1998,” it continued.
