dnata, (www.dnata.com) the fourth largest combined air services provider in the world, celebrated the introduction of a new company philosophy and fresh visual branding to its business in the Philippines as part of its global brand realignment.

The successful contribution the Philippines business makes to dnata’s global business was acknowledged in Manila recently, with customers, suppliers and both local and international employees celebrating the start of a new era which will see positive changes to the business over the coming months.

dnata’s profile and reputation in the Philippines have risen significantly since 1998 – when it first established its operations in the region as ‘dnata Inc’ – the only internationally owned ground handling agent in Manila’s airport.

dnata has invested heavily in its Manila operations, with the purchase of new equipment, introduction of staff training initiatives and renovation of their offices. The operations have seen significant growth during the years since, with an increase in new customers and organic growth by existing customers. Today, dnata is one of the most successful and highly reputed handling agents in the Asia-Pacific Region with customers including Emirates, Qatar Airways, Hawaiian Air and Air China.

dnata’s emergence as the leading ground handling agent in the Philippines was solidified earlier this year when it became the first ground handler in the country to achieve the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO) accreditation setting a national industry benchmark.

In addition, dnata is also AHS1000 and ISO certified making its operations in Manila ‘world class’ in the areas of quality and safety performance.

Gary Chapman, President of dnata

“We are proud to have strong roots in the Philippines – the team here has worked hard and played an important part in establishing our reputation in the region as a respected global air services provider,” said Gary Chapman, President of dnata, speaking at today’s event in Manila. “dnata in Manila has excellent potential for growth, future success and to play its part in dnata’s global team effort to achieve its vision of becoming the world’s most admired air services provider” he continued.

The brand re-fresh has come at a key time for the dnata team in the Philippines in particular, having recently welcomed a new General Manager – Margaret Yu – who has been appointed to take the lead as the business enters this new era.

“We have more than 200 dedicated staff working at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, a number of whom have been with the team since we first began our operations in Manila,” said newly-appointed GM Margaret Yu.” The collective knowledge and experience we possess makes us a strong team and enables us to deliver the very best service to our customers.”  “Add to that the combined knowledge, experience and reputation of the rest of the dnata family worldwide and we have a bright future ahead of us.”

Services offered by the dnata team in the Philippines include passenger, ramp and baggage services; cargo handling and ground support equipment. dnata’s operations team ensures the safe and efficient co-ordination of all aircraft movements and ground handling requirements. It is also responsible for the monitoring of arrival and departure schedules of its customers and the co-ordination of all turnaround activities on time for all its customer airlines.

The brand refresh comes during one of dnata’s most successful periods in its 52 year history, as the company has transitioned from regional to global status. Over the past six years, the organization, which incorporates a range of services including ground handling, cargo, travel, IT solutions and flight catering, has quadrupled in size. It now has a global footprint across 73 airports, in 38 countries across five continents including Australia, China, the Philippines, Singapore, UK, Switzerland and Pakistan.

The event in the Philippines follows successful events recently at dnata business locations including Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Singapore.  In April of this year, almost two thousand dnata employees celebrated in dnata’s birthplace – Dubai – where the revitalized look and feel, including striking new logo were first revealed to enthusiastic audiences at two launch events.
