Shipping and logistics group CMA CGM has partnered with two e-commerce companies as part of its drive to develop end-to-end e-commerce and digital marketing solutions for its clients.

In a release, CMA CGM said it has forged a new strategic partnership with its subsidiary NewOxatis, an e-commerce platform that lets businesses create e-commerce websites, and BigCommerce, an e-commerce platform that provides software as a service (SaaS) to retailers.

Through this collaboration, CMA CGM said it aims to help its B2C and B2B customers digitize their activities by enabling them to build digital storefronts via NewOxatis, with the platform powered by BigCommerce technology.

“Through this partnership with a global ecommerce leader like BigCommerce and through the complementary expertise that exists within our Group, we can develop ecommerce and digital marketing solutions for our clients and also manage the entire logistics chain,” said Michael Miramond, CMA CGM chief digital officer and CEO of NewOxatis.

“This partnership is fully in line with the CMA CGM Group’s commitment to accelerate innovation and digitalization of its industry by providing an end-to-end digital offering to its customers.”

B2B and B2C businesses that seek to create or expand their digital storefronts will leverage NewOxatis’ expertise and BigCommerce’s e-commerce capabilities and rich partner ecosystem to digitalize with a scalable, high-functionality platform, the release said.

The partnership will equip merchants with a new online sales channel that is fully integrated with information systems and uses ERP and product information management software, along with CRM and marketing tools.

Additionally, it will offer a full e-commerce website design service and digital marketing solutions, such as search engine optimization and advertising with Google Ads to enhance clients’ online presence so they can reach new target audiences and grow their sales.

To meet clients’ needs worldwide, CMA CGM said it is accelerating its digital transformation as a transport and logistics solutions provider by investing in R&D, specifically in IoT, artificial intelligence and blockchain, to develop more innovative and more secure solutions to improve the experience of users.
