The partnership will continue the use of QuantumID’s SmartKargo operating system, an innovative Software as a Service (SaaS) solution, for CEB Cargo. This comes as the airline recently launched its first dedicated cargo aircraft.
“The SmartKargo Cloud solution has equipped CEB Cargo with the advanced digital tools to run our business,” Cebu Pacific vice president for commercial Alex Reyes said in a statement.
“We are very pleased to continue the partnership, and look forward to sustained growth that SmartKargo has enabled,” Reyes added.
The airline said the enhanced capabilities of SmartKargo has allowed CEB Cargo to provide paperless airway bills (e-AWBs), and ease of booking for CEB Cargo agents and customers by allowing single-screen data entries.
In addition, the solution provides simplified pricing and rate-making capabilities; real-time capacity management; user-configurable business intelligence and reporting; and integrated cargo revenue accounting.
The platform also supports streamlined participation with partners doing e-commerce—facilitating B2B (business-to-business) or B2C (business-to-customer) door-to-door operations via mobile applications as well as third party integration.
Cebu Pacific added that SmartKargo has helped it manage and integrate new dedicated cargo capacity into its fleet. The airline last month launched an ATR 72-500, the first of two dedicated cargo aircraft it has ordered. The two dedicated aircraft will be deployed with the aim to enhance significantly the airline’s position in the air cargo industry.
The airline has also utilized SmartKargo to empower customers with real-time shipment information as well as advanced tools such as mobile apps that streamline customer experience via kiosks at the warehouse.
The mobile application of the system has also allowed CEB Cargo to enable its clients to manage their shipments end-to-end, from booking to destination.
“We at SmartKargo look forward to continue providing CEB Cargo with solutions and tools to grow their business,” QuantumID executive president Jay Shelat said.
Cebu Pacific adopted the SmartKargo Cloud platform in 2013, the first Asian carrier to do so. QuantumID Technologies is a software and solutions company based in Cambridge, Mass. with locations around the world.
