Cebu Pacific will start a daily Cebu-Seoul flight from September 9, an upgrade from its current twice-a-week service.

“These additional flights will enable more passengers from VisMin to fly to South Korea any day of the week so they may finally make their travel dreams a reality,” Cebu Pacific corporate communications director Carmina Reyes-Romero said in a statement. Last July 3, Cebu Pacific flew its first direct international flight from Cebu to Seoul, marking the restart of its international operations outside Manila.

Flight 5J 128 departs Mactan-Cebu International Airport at 12:25pm and will arrive at 6:10pm (Korea local time). Its return flight, 5J 129 leaves Seoul at 6:55pm and arrive in Cebu at 10:50pm (Philippine local time).

Cebu Pacific currently flies to Cebu from 22 domestic destinations: Bacolod, Boracay, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Calbayog, Camiguin, Clark, Coron, Davao, Dipolog, Dumaguete, General Santos, Iloilo, Legazpi, Manila, Ozamiz, Pagadian, Puerto Princesa, Siargao, Surigao, Tacloban, and Zamboanga.

Fully vaccinated travelers flying to Seoul need to bring their negative COVID-19 test result taken within 48 hours before departure, valid vaccination certificate, and a filled-out foreigner registration card.

Cebu Pacific earlier said its international network has started to recover as travel requirements of other Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore and Thailand eased. The low-cost airline also expanded its network as it resumed flights to Hanoi, Bali, and Taiwan in the second quarter.

As of June, Cebu Pacific operates a route network serving 66 domestic routes and 16 international routes with a total of 2,384 scheduled weekly flights.

It also operates with a 100% fully vaccinated crew, 95% of whom have been boosted.
