The Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway (CAVITEX) C5 Link Flyover Extension is now open to the motoring public.

The 1.6-kilometer segment of the CAVITEX C5 Link, which opened on August 14, connects to the 2.2 km flyover that provides access and faster travel time for motorists bound to C5 Road in in Taguig from Merville, Parañaque, and vice versa.

No toll will be charged on the flyover extension until September. After which, the provisional toll approved by the Toll Regulatory Board is as follows: P37 for Class 1 vehicles; P74 for Class 2; and P112 for Class 3.

CAVITEX C5 Link is a 7.7 km segment of Manila-Cavite expressway that will connect to the CAVITEX R1 Parañaque toll plaza. The link will cut travel time from CAVITEX to Makati, Taguig, and Pasay by 30-45 minutes while helping decongest EDSA, MIA Road, Roxas Boulevard, and other major thoroughfares.

More than 50,000 motorists are expected to benefit from the project upon its completion in 2023.

With the opening of the CAVITEX C5 Link Flyover extension, a new traffic scheme will be implemented for motorists entering the expressway in Merville.

Vehicles from Parañaque going to Taguig should now pass through the new C5 Link Flyover Merville entry located in front of Shell C5 Southlink, Brgy. Moonwalk, Paranaque.

“More than 15,000 motorists going to Taguig from Parañaque and vice versa are expected to benefit with this new segment of CAVITEX C5 Link. We urge everyone to utilize Easytrip RFID to avoid the long line at the cash lane and maximize the benefit of shorter travel time,” Raul L. Ignacio, president and general manager of toll operator Cavitex Infrastructure Corp. (CIC), said in a statement.

CIC offers motorists free Easytrip RFID installation and RFID check-up in CAVITEX C5 Link Customer Service Center.

Motorists will only pay P200 for the initial load of the new Easytrip account.

As for other road segments, construction of Segment 2 of CAVITEX C5 Link – which will connect other segments to CAVITEX R-1 Expressway in Parañaque – is now 30% complete, according to the latest project update.
