CAB issues revised data on 2013 domestic air cargo volume

The Philippine Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) recently revised data on cargo volume handled by domestic air freight forwarders in 2013.

Statistics it earlier issued contained discrepancies, according to the CAB.

Revised data showed that the total 2013 volume of shipments carried by domestic air freight forwarders reached 55.579 million kilograms, up 12.7% from 49.549 million kg in 2012.

Direct shipments accounted for 51.3% or 28.503 million kg of the total.

Consolidations represented 48.7% of the aggregate, down slightly to 27,043,253.25 kg from 27,043,990.25 kg in 2012. The latest figure is a 16.7% drop from the year-on-year volume of 32.47 million kg.

Breakbulking accounted for 0.06% or 32,578 kg of the total, up 25.19% from 26,022 kg in 2012.

Based on CAB’s corrected list, the top 30 domestic airfreight forwarders all kept their place except for Airspeed International Corp., which moved to 38th place from 17th in the old tally.

A a result, all companies from rank 18th to 30th moved up one place, with Skyfreight Forwarding Inc. now included in the list at 30th place.

The top 10 air freight forwarders for 2013 were LBC Express Inc., Transglobal Consolidators Inc., AP Cargo Logistics Network Corp., Airfreight 2100, Kim Gold Cargo Logistics Corp., 2Go Express Inc., JRS Business Corp., Cargo Padala Express Forwarding Service Corp., Wide Wide World Express Inc., and Ximex Delivery Express.

AAI Worldwide Logistics (formerly Airlift Asia, Inc), Libcap Super Express Corp., Explorer Freight Corp., Highlight Express Philippines, Inc., Vintel Logistics, Inc., and Fastcargo Logistics Corp. maintained their 11th to 16th ranking.

Due to the movement of Airspeed, Argo International Forwarders, Inc. jumped one place from 18th to 17th. Following Argo were American Freight Forwarders, Inc., Non-Pareil International, Inc., ASP Airspeed Philippines, Inc., Pambato Cargo Forwarders, Germalin Enterprises, Inc., TNT Express Deliveries Phils. Inc., Iris Logistics, Inc., CBL Courier Express International, GRM International Inc., Front Cargo Forwarders, Redgold Forwarders Inc., and Makatiexpress Cargo Inc.
