BOC surpasses Jan collection target by 11.9%
  • The Bureau of Customs collected P65.801 billion from January 1 to 27, already surpassing its P58.822 billion for the month by 11.9%
  • The collection covering the period of January 1-27 was also 13.1% higher than the P58.174 billion recorded in January 2022

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) surpassed its January collection target by 11.9%, a few days before the month even ended.

The agency took in P65.801 billion from January 1 to 27 against its goal of P58.822 billion, based on a preliminary report as of January 27.

The January collection was also 13.1% higher than the P58.174 billion recorded in January 2022, BOC said in a statement.

For 2023, BOC has been tasked to collect P901.3 billion, up from the P721 billion target last year.

In 2022, BOC took in P862.929 billion, its highest annual collection to date, and higher the P643.562 billion generated in 2021.

BOC earlier noted that several reforms were expedited and implemented which paved the way for plugging revenue leakages and a sustained positive collection performance.
