The Bureau of Customs-Port of Cebu recently recognized its top 10 importers in 2021 for their contribution to the port’s revenue collection performance.

The top importers were Filoil Logistics Corp., Seaoil Philippines Inc.; Ecossential Foods Corp., Therma Visayas Inc., Steelasia Manufacturing Corp., AD Gothong Manufacturing, KEPCO SPC Power Corp., National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, Joyland Industries Corp., and Cebu Energy Development Corp.

Plaques of appreciation were awarded to the top importing firms during BOC-Cebu’s celebration of its 136th founding anniversary on August 26.

BOC-Cebu district collector Atty Charlito Martin R. Mendoza called for sustained reform initiatives at the port, with this year’s commitment to reform, evolve, and upskill.

“All that we have accomplished together now serve as fuel to accelerate transformation. The port needs transformative actions to remain responsive to our stakeholders’ needs in these changing times,” Mendoza said.

BOC deputy commissioner for internal administration group Donato B. San Juan delivered the keynote message on behalf of Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz who urged Customs personnel to sustain their reform initiatives.

“We shall continue with these reforms to completion. Part of these is upskilling our workforce, which is the only way for us to progress with the advances in technology, with no one getting left behind. We have established the Customs Training Institute based on our competency framework to provide our personnel with the best training they need. With all these in place, you can expect our full support.”

For this year, BOC-Cebu has been consistently surpassing its monthly targets since January, posting a total of P24.57 billion for the first seven months.
