The Bureau of Customs (BOC) and the National Bureau of Investigation-National Capital Region (NBI-NCR) seized counterfeit goods and other products worth an estimated P78 million in Bulacan.
In a statement, BOC said the counterfeit items do not comply with the Department of Trade and Industry’s safety standards.
Armed with Letters of Authority issued by Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero, the implementing team composed of personnel from the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service-Intellectual Property Rights Division, BOC-Port of Manila, NBI-NCR, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines, inspected the warehouses located at Fochun Industrial Compound in Balagtas, Bulacan on May 2.
The owners and their representatives were invited during the inspection and have issued a certification of non-authenticity on the counterfeit goods.
In an initial inventory of the seized goods, BOC said they found fake goods labelled Adidas, Nike, Jordan, Gucci, Kawasaki, Yamaha, and Honda, among others.
A shipping container was also found at the location containing aluminum profiles but misdeclared as steel channel.

Warehouse representatives were informed by the BOC-NBI team to provide importation documents and other pertinent permits covering the discovered fake goods.
Further investigation is underway for other possible violations of Republic Act 8293 or the Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, RA 7394 (Consumer Act of the Philippines), RA 10863 (Customs Modernization and Tariff Act), and RA 4653, which prohibits importation of used clothing and rags (locally called ukay-ukay) in commercial quantity to safeguard the health of the public.
