BOC-MICP awards top importers, brokers for 1H

The Bureau of Customs-Manila International Container Port (MICP) recently awarded its top importers, customs brokers and deconsolidators for the first half of the year.

Mondelez Philippines Inc led the list of importers in terms of revenue.

The top customs brokers were Dexter Pepanio and Christel Gonzales under the Formal Entry Division (FED) and Informal Entry Division (IED), respectively.

LBC Express Inc emerged as the top deconsolidator.

They were awarded plaques of recognition by MICP district collector Romeo Allan Rosales.

The program was hosted by Millicent Rosete-Liquido. In attendance were Atty. Edward Ibera, Deputy Collector for Assessment; Atty. Jesus Balmores, Deputy Collector for Administration; Atty. Rey Roland Bergado, Chief, FED; Emelita Morales, Assistant Chief, FED; Bienvenido Entico, Chief, IED; and Anuar Datudacula, Chief, IED.

According to the preliminary report of the BOC Financial Service, BOC-MICP reached its mid-year collection target, taking in a total of P76.2 billion reflecting a surplus of P774 million.

Rosales in a statement said MICP continues to generate the highest collection revenue among all ports in the country not only due to the hard work of the MICP personnel but also because of support from stakeholders who use the port.
