The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Legazpi has transferred to its newly-constructed office building located at Quezon Avenue Extension, Pier Site, Legazpi City, Albay.

The new customshouse, adjacent to the old building, is a modernized two-storey building which has a floor area of 700 square meters. It has nine office rooms, a multipurpose hall, pantry room, lobby, conference room, and quarters area designed to provide conducive working environment for the personnel which have been cramped-up in a limited office space for quite some time now, BOC Legazpi said in a statement.

The office structure also provides better operational provisions for the stakeholders which will limit face-to-face transactions and enable better implementation of BOC’s zero contact policy, BOC Legazpi added.

Moreover, the new building will have a Customer Care Center that will serve as a one-stop-shop for all Customs related inquiries, concerns and complaints.

These are in line with BOC’s 10-point priority program, which include enhancement of facilities and full automation of frontline transactions to help streamline and expedite processes.

BOC Legazpi acting district collector Alexander M. Go said the new office building will be inaugurated on June 29, 2020 after the final touches are done and the transfer to the two-storey building is completed. The inauguration will be a simple occasion highlighted by the office blessing which will be attended by Customs personnel and some stakeholders who will adhere to social distancing requirements for areas under moderate general community quarantine.
