The Bureau of Customs (BOC) filed criminal cases against freight forwarders that abandoned about 7,000 balikbayan boxes of overseas Filipino workers.

The consolidators are All Win Cargo LLC, Island Kabayan Express Cargo LLC, Carlos Martin Guinto Co., GM Multi Services and Anhar Al Mawalah Trading, according to BOC in a statement on Facebook.

The deconsolidators, on the other hand, are CMG Int’l Movers and Cargo Services, Cargoflex Haulers Corp., FBV Forwarders and Logistics, Inc., at Etmar Int’l Logistics.

Victims of above forwarders may coordinate with the BOC to further strengthen the cases against the companies. OFWs may email the BOC at batas@customs.gov.ph for inquiries. The email should include contact details and “BALIKBAYAN BOXES” as email subject.

The BOC reiterated its appeal to OFWs to exercise caution in choosing freight forwarding companies to ship their balikbayan boxes.

A total of 1,996 unpaid and abandoned balikbayan boxes shipped by CMG International Movers and Cargo Services, Kabayan Island Express Cargo, and All Win Balikbayan Cargo have already been distributed by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) from July to early November.

The balikbayan boxes arrived on separate dates in 2021 and this year, and have been left abandoned by the three forwarders.
