Employees, clients, industry partners, and friends joined ASIA OVERSEAS TRANSPORT CO., INC., (AOT), a 100% Filipino-owned corporation, as it commemorated its 30th anniversary at the Grand Ballroom of Okada Manila last September 7, 2018.
The affair was graced by guests that had been instrumental in the company’s thirty (30) fruitful years. It was highlighted by handing out plaques of appreciation to the top ten (10) importers and top ten (10) exporters, as well as the giving out of service & loyalty awards to employees who had been with the company for ten (10) years, fifteen (15) years, twenty (20) years, twenty-five (25) years and thirty (30) years.
The presence of CEOs and representatives from partner Agents abroad and local industry partners, made the occasion even more memorable.
Since its incorporation as an International Sea Cargo Forwarder in August 1980 and the takeover in 1988 of the current management—ably led by its President & CEO Cynthia Reyes-Tsui—AOT began its legacy of excellence with the company’s team of highly trained, competent and dependable personnel, with long years of experience in the field of international freight forwarding, providing only the best service to its clients.
In 1983 the company branched out as an International Air Cargo Forwarder, securing its license to operate from the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB). Apart from the Securities and Exchange Commission, AOT is also accredited by the Department of Trade & Industry, Philippine Shipper’s Bureau now Free Trade Enforcement Bureau (FTEB) , as an International Sea Freight Forwarder, Cargo Consolidator, NVOCC and Breakbulk Agent. These licenses and accreditations—are testaments of the government’s trust and confidence in the company.
With the growing need for international viability, AOT become a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in 1990.
The view toward achieving service excellence and becoming globally competitive, AOT put in place a quality management system that conforms to international standards. It acquired ISO 9001:2000 certification in December 2001 and currently certified under ISO 9001:2008 from the prestigious certifying body, TUV Product Service Asia Pacific PTE. Ltd.
