ANZDA, AADA to impose peak season surcharges from August 15

The nine-carrier-strong Asia New Zealand Discussion Agreement (ANZDA) recently announced peak season surcharges of US$250 per twenty equivalent unit (TEU) and $500 per TEU for cargo from Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam to New Zealand from August 15.

The ANZDA is a voluntary discussion forum comprised of China Navigation, Cosco, Hamburg Sud, Maersk Line, MISC Berhad, MOL, NYK Line, OOCL, and Pacific International Lines.

The Asia Australia Discussion Agreement (AADA) also announced peak season surcharges of US$300 per TEU and $600 per forty foot equivalent unit starting August 15 for cargo from Korea, China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan bound for Australia.
