4 areas under stricter Alert Level 4

Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province and Northern Samar will be under Alert Level 4 from January 21 to 31, 2022. The escalation from Alert Level 3 came amid a spike in COVID-19 cases in the country.

Fifteen areas, meanwhile, were placed under Alert Level 3 from January 21-31, 2022:

• Luzon – Apayao, Puerto Princesa City and Masbate

• Visayas – Siquijor

• Mindanao – Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga Sibugay, Lanao del Norte, Davao de Oro, Davao Oriental, North Cotabato, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, Surigao del Norte, Maguindanao, and Basilan

These areas join the almost 80 areas earlier placed under Alert Level 3 until the end of the month.

Areas under Alert Level 4 are areas where case counts are high and/or increasing, with total bed utilization rate and intensive care unit utilization rate at high utilization.

Areas under Alert Level 3 those where case counts are high and/or increasing, with increasing total bed utilization and intensive care unit utilization rates.

Intrazonal and interzonal travel are allowed under Alert Level 4 subject to regulations of the local government unit of destination, except for those below 18 years of age, and those belonging to the vulnerable population.

Establishments and/or activities characterized as high-risk for transmission will not be allowed to operate, or be undertaken in areas classified under Alert Level 4.

Establishments or activities allowed to operate, or be undertaken, meanwhile, can do so at a maximum of 10% indoor venue capacity for fully vaccinated individuals only and 30% outdoor venue capacity provided that they have been issued a Safety Seal Certification.

Under Alert Level 3, intrazonal and interzonal movement will be allowed and reasonable restrictions may be imposed by the local government units.

Establishments and/or activities characterized as high-risk for transmission will also not be allowed to operate, or be undertaken in areas classified under Alert Level 3. Establishments or activities allowed to operate or be undertaken can do so at a maximum of 30% indoor venue capacity for fully vaccinated individuals only and 50% outdoor venue capacity.
