Launched last May 12, MV 2GO Maligaya is a 195-meter vessel with a 26.4-meter breadth and gross tonnage of 29,046.

2GO said the vessel is currently the most technologically advanced RoPax vessel in the Philippines. Featuring a top speed of 23.5 knots, the ship is also the fastest cargo vessel in the Philippines today, with steaming time from Manila to Cebu of only 17 hours.

With MV 2GO Maligaya, 2GO said it aims to further improve its on-time sailing schedule reliability to 95%.

The RoPax is bigger compared to any of 2GO’s current fleet of vessels, allowing it to carry 40% more twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) of cargo and accommodate 800 passengers in bigger rooms and common areas.

The vessel has cruise ship-like amenities of international standards, such as private hotel room accommodations, grand lobby, spacious lounge areas, and restaurants, as well as amenities such as café, salon, convenience store, prayer room, shower rooms, bar, clinic, activity area, and entertainment rooms.

2GO said it observes proper health and safety protocols to assure safe travels through regular disinfection and sanitation of all vessels and ports of call.

Meanwhile, passengers are required to wear personal protective equipment, such as face masks and face shields, and to practice social distancing at all times, from check-in and boarding to disembarkation. The company said it also ensures that passengers comply with the local travel requirements of their destinations.

Accommodation types include the state room, business premium, tourist premium, business class, tourist class, and the tatami. The rooms and common areas have wider spaces and open-air options for better air ventilation. Passengers also have the choice to book a single room for themselves or their family to observe social distancing throughout their trip.

To encourage travels, 2GO Travel is offering a P99 promo to any destination of choice, inclusive of a 50-kilogram baggage allowance. Passengers must book from May 30 to June 3, 2021 to avail of the promo, for sailing from August 1 to December 15, 2021. The trips covered include Batangas to Caticlan and Roxas as well as Manila to Bacolod, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Coron, Dumaguete, Iligan, Iloilo, Ozamis, Puerto Princesa, and Zamboanga.

The MV 2GO Maligaya was acquired as part of the group’s fleet modernization efforts to ensure high speed and reliability in moving essential goods nationwide, while at the same time upgrading sea travel onboard experience.

MV 2GO Maligaya joins the group’s current fleet of 10 vessels servicing 20 major ports of call in the Philippines.
