Yap replaces Olego as CTAP head

CTAPThe Confederation of Truckers Association of the Philippines (CTAP) has elected Mario Yap as its new president for the remaining months of the term 2016-2017, replacing Edgardo Olego.

Yap is currently the president of Manila North Harbor Truckers Association, Inc. and was previously vice president for Internal Affairs of CTAP.

In a chance interview with PortCalls on March 30, Yap said the group has yet to finalize plans for the year, but that one activity to be undertaken under his watch is the creation of eight committees focused on various concerns of the group.

These are the Executive Committee, Committee on Special Concerns, Committee on Government Affairs, Port Operations Committee, Finance/Ways and Means Committee, Recruitment/Membership Committee, Mediation Committee, and Training Committee.

The other officers and board members will remain in their positions for the duration of the term.

CTAP’s affiliate members nationwide include Cagayan Aggregates and River Gravel Haulers Association, Inc.; Cebu Truckers Association, Inc.; Leyte Truckers Association; Negros Consolidated Truckers Association; Subic Bay Haulers Association; and Truckers Association of Davao to Accelerate Development.
