Taiwan’s Yang Ming and InterAsia Lines, a subsidiary of Taiwan-based Wan Hai Lines have partnered in launching a dedicated Taiwan-Indonesia lane.

Introduced on December 22, 2011, the Taiwan-Indonesia service (TIS) seeks to take advantage of the rising demand in the Indonesian market, Yang Ming said.

Port rotation of the TIS is Kaohsiung, Keelung, Jakarta and Kaohsiung for a 14-day round trip that is seen to facilitate cargo delivery between Taiwan and Indonesia.

Each shipping line will deploy one vessel with a capacity of 1,700 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs) to the route.

Yang Ming is also reportedly in talks with Wan Hai Lines to introduce a joint service from Bangkok to Singapore.

The box line said it has entered into a swap program with Wan Hai Lines to obtain slots on the Thailand-Java-Singapore service (TJS) and increase its coverage of southeast Asia.

The TJS rotation is Bangkok, Laem Chabang, Singapore, Jakarta, Singapore, Port Kelang, Singapore.
