PH transport executives formally sworn into office

Newly appointed transport officials took their oath of office on January 9 in a ceremony led by Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte.

These officials were appointed to the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and its attached agencies Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Cebu Port Authority (CPC), Manila International Airport Authority, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), and Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA).

Appointees include DOTr assistant secretary Cesar Chavez, LTFRB Board member Ronaldo Corpuz, and LRTA administrator Reynaldo Berroya.

For CAAP, oath-takers included director general Jim Sydiongo, deputy director general Manuel Antonio Tamayo, assistant director general II Donaldo Mendoza, and assistant secretaries Raul Canon and Airene Robinson.

PPA assistant general managers also took oath—Hector Miole for operations, Elmer Nonnatus Cadano for finance and administration, and Constante Fariñas, Jr.

CPA general manager and Cebu Port Commission (CPC) vice-chairman Angelo Verdan was joined by CPC members Jose Tan for the shipping sector, Joselito Pedarea and Vincent Frasco for the cargo handling sector, and Allan Alfon  for the business sector.

Airport officials Eddie Monreal and Steve Dicdican, from MIAA and MCIAA, respectively, also took their oath.

Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority’s new administrator, Wilma Eisma, also took hers, together with other SBMA Board members Benny Antiporda, Maria Cecilia Bitari, Tomas Fausto Lanom III, Stefanie Saño, and Rogelio Roque.

The oath-taking was participated in by more than 200 newly appointed government officials assigned to various agencies, government-owned and controlled corporations, state universities and colleges, judiciaries, and other government instrumentalities.
