Torres leads new set of PISFA officers

The Philippine International Seafreight Forwarders Association (PISFA) has elected its new officers and board of directors who will serve from 2015 to 2017.

Doris Torres, general manager of STAMM International, Inc., will head PISFA as president. She takes the place of Ma. Emperatriz Regis, vice president and general manager of Airspeed International, Corp., who will now be the organization’s chairperson.

Eduardo De Guzman, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Sky Freight Forwarders, Inc., is the new executive vice president and vice president for external affairs, while Bernardita Rivadeneira, president of Pacific Concord Container Lines, is vice president for internal affairs.

Marilyn Alberto of Kintetsu World Express (Phils.), Inc. is the new corporate secretary; Ma. Victoria Geniza, president of Freight Connection Phils., Inc., is treasurer; and Benny Anunsacion, president of Sea-Jet International Forwarders, Inc., is the auditor.

Sitting as directors are Denirene Casipit (president and general manager, Transmodal International, Inc.); Christopolus Coching (president and chief operating officer, Mercury Freight International, Inc.); Mark Angelo Colona (director for business development, Eagle Express Lines, Inc.); Mark Cosico (CNT Worldwide Transport Corp.); and Ramon Benjamin De Leon (general manager, Pac-Atlantic Lines, Inc.).

Meanwhile, each officer will have his or her own committee. These committees are Ways and Means (for Casipit); Sports and Fellowship (Coching); Ethics and Standards (De Leon); Government and Shipping Lines Affairs/Tariff (De Guzman); Membership and Insurance (Rivadeneira); Training and Education (Torres); Finance (Geniza); Social Responsibility (Cosico); and Information Technology (Colona).
