Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) has leased a 25,300-square-meter warehouse in Sriracha, Thailand, to become the largest export hub in Asia for Japan’s Mitsubishi group.

This comes about after the subsidiary has been designated as the global production base for Mitsubishi exports, in addition to being the present hub for pickup truck exports, said Nobuyuki Murahashi, president of Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand).

The new distribution center, located in TPARK (Ticon Logistics Park) in Sriracha, makes it the largest automotive parts and accessories warehouse in Asia for all export models manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) to over 140 countries worldwide, he added.

Its location close to Laem Chabang Port, which is widely used for the export of automotive parts and accessories, and being surrounded by a number of major industrial estates “will help improve our operational efficiencies and hence reduce supply-chain costs,” the company said.

Mitsubishi Motors (Thailand) has three assembly factories and one engine factory in the Laem Chabang Industrial Estate.
