PH domestic airfreight volume up 11.1% in 2015; LBC Express leads forwarders

Cargo plane2Cargo volume handled by domestic air freight forwarders in the Philippines increased 11.1% to 59.83 million kilograms in 2015 from 53.85 million kg in 2014, latest data from the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) showed.

Consolidations, which contributed 58.7% of the total, rose 17.6% to 35.12 million kg from 29.86 million kg in 2014, while direct shipments, which accounted for 41.3%, grew 3.1% to 24.69 million kg from 23.95 million kg in 2014.

Breakbulk shipments, however, dropped 40.4% to 25,084 kg from 42,069 kg in 2014.

For the tenth straight year, LBC Express, Inc. emerged as the top domestic airfreight forwarder in the Philippines.

Since 2006, the logistics, courier, and remittance company has handled the most volume of air cargo among local airfreight forwarders. The firm carried 15.08 million kg in 2015 for a market share of 25.2%. But this market share is down to below 30% starting 2013, from 40% to 50% between 2006 and 2012.

Likewise maintaining their ranks in 2015 were AP Cargo Logistics Network Corp. in second place with 9.13 million kg (15.26%), Airfreight 2100, Inc. in third with 6.84 million kg, and Cargo Padala Express Forwarding Service Corp. in fourth with 4.35 million kg.

Both jumping two places higher in 2015 were JRS Business Corp. in fifth with 3.27 million kg and AAI Worldwide Logistics, Inc. in sixth with 2.40 million kg.

Kim Gold Cargo Logistics, Corp., on the other hand, dropped one place to seventh with 2.28 million kg while Wide Wide World Express, Inc. fell three notches to eighth with 2.19 million kg.

Ximex Delivery Express, which improved two places to ninth, carried 2.01 million kg while 2Go Express, Inc. slipped one place to tenth with 1.76 million kg.

Filling the top 11 to 20 spots were Libcap Super Express Corp. (1.72 million kg); Vintel Logistics, Inc. (1.23 million kg); Non-pareil International, Inc. (1.21 million kg); Highlight Express Philippines, Inc. (828,307 kg); F2 Logistics Philippines, Inc. (679,265 kg); ASP Airspeed Philippines, Inc. (600,007 kg); Argo International Forwarders, Inc. (474,242 kg); TNT Express Deliveries Phils., Inc. (416,081 kg); GRM International, Inc. (328,665 kg); and Germalin Enterprises, Inc. (322,902 kg).

Completing the top 30 were Fastcargo Logistics, Corp. (316,719 kg); American Freight Forwarders, Inc. (276,478 kg); Pambato Cargo Forwarders (272,025 kg); Trans-global Consolidators, Inc. (258, 590 kg); Makatiexpress Cargo, Inc. (199,912 kg, incomplete data); CBL Courier Express International (194,944 kg); Inland Airfreight Logistics Corp (188,889 kg); Front Cargo Forwarders (100,105 kg); Airspeed International Corp.
