NMC Container Lines, Inc (NMCCLI) vessel Gen. Malvar recently made her maiden call at Batangas Port, carrying substantial volume bound for Cebu and Cagayan De Oro. The volume of inbound cargoes from Cagayan de Oro to Batangas was also encouraging.

NMCCLI has replaced Manila with a Batangas call in its regular Manila-Cebu-Cagayan de Oro-Manila route, given the significant growth of the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) region and Batangas Port’s modern equipment and facilities.

“The best way for us to target the Calabarzon market and help our customers based in the region to bring their goods to Visayas and Mindanao is to utilize ATI Batangas Port as a strategic gateway,” said NMCCLI general manager Jay Olivarez.

“In addition, our Calabarzon customers get to reduce their costs in trucking and logistics when they bring their cargo for carriage to Batangas Port compared to bringing it all the way to North Harbor in Manila,” Olivarez added.

NMCCLI is a member of the Magsaysay Transport & Logistics Group. Aside from Batangas, its service routes are located in five of the country’s major economic ports – Manila, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Davao and General Santos. NMCCLI’s areas of operations are all ISO-certified.
