MOL introduces China-Vietnam/Thailand services

Shanghai portMOL Liner Ltd (MOL) will bolster its intra-Asia connections by launching two services called CVT and CVT2 which will link China to Vietnam and Thailand.

The new CVT sling will be jointly operated by MOL and Regional Container Lines (RCL) using three vessels. It offers a direct connection from Thailand to Manila on the northbound rotation.

Rotation schedule is Qingdao, Shanghai, Cat Lai, Laem Chabang, Bangkok, Laem Chabang, Manila, and Qingdao.

The maiden trip will be the MOL Horizon with an expected time of arrival in Bangkok on April 6.

The CVT2 loop will cater to demand from Ningbo to Thailand and link Thailand, Ho Chi Minh, and China on the northbound rotation. It is to be operated by RCL, with MOL chartering space on this service.

Port calls will be in Ningbo, Shanghai, Laem Chabang, Bangkok, Laem Chabang, Cat Lai, and back to Ningbo.

The service kicks off with the Ratana Thida arriving in Bangkok on April 6.
