Mercury Freight Int’l Inc.’s 24th year in the Philippine logistics industry was made even more memorable with the official opening of its sales office in the US established on April 11, 2011.

Mercury Freight America, LLC was launched on May 5, 2011 amid the global economic turmoil, US recession, Middle East political crises, and catastrophic events in the Philippines and in neighboring countries. The decision – which came after lengthy studies and years of preparation — reflects the Philippine office’s belief that the US office will be able to quickly establish its niche and help create significant traffic between the US and the Philippines for its group and network.

With the new office, the group can now develop more volume to/from the Philippines and other origins through the active pursuit of consignees and close collaboration with overseas agents on sales leads covering all potential traffic into the US.

Mercury Freight Int’l has indeed come a long way from its humble beginnings in 1987. Established as an independent and 100% Filipino-owned seafreight cargo consolidator by the Coching family, the company – led by founder, Chairman and CEO, Mr. Bayani C. Coching — was envisioned from the very start to provide reliable and economical total freight solutions.

Over the years, it has achieved remarkable growth in an industry that has seen many companies rise and fall quickly. Services have developed rapidly and offerings diversified – from sea/air freight forwarding, NVOCC, breakbulk and bulk cargo handling, brokerage and logistics to distribution services.

It has also reached out internationally in a big way. Its exclusive collaboration with CWT Globelink Global Network, considered the strongest seafreight cargo consolidator in the world, allows Mercury Freight Int’l to offer on-time transshipment worldwide. International services include those to major seaports in the ASEAN through the Singapore hub; the Asia Pacific and Indian regions; Hong Kong for mainland China; Korea; Japan; the Middle East; North America; Rotterdam for Europe; and key cities in the West Mediterranean.

Mercury Freight Int’l also counts itself among the very few consolidators with its own office building in a prime location. Five minutes away from the country’s main international airport, its Parañaque headquarters features an 800 square-meter warehouse.

As it moves toward its 25th year and beyond, Mercury Freight remains true to the promise it made the first time it opened its doors to the trade – that it could always be depended on to offer reliable and economical total freight solutions.

“We are grateful to our faithful customers for their strong and enduring support, trust and confidence. As we venture into a new endeavor and another exciting challenge, we hope we can once again rely on our clients’ support for Mercury Freight America,” said Mercury Freight President/COO April Coching-Capitan.
