Intra-Asia carrier MCC Transport has added Kuantan Port in Malaysia to its IA-2 service.

The IA-2 will now have this service rotation: Kuantan, Laem Chabang (Thailand), Hong Kong, Xiamen (China), Tokyo (Japan), Yokohama (Japan), Nagoya (Japan), Kaohsiung (Taiwan), Hong Kong, Yantian (China), Tanjung Pelepas (Malaysia), Singapore, Jakarta (Indonesia), Tanjung Pelepas, and back to Kuantan.

The revised IA-2 is scheduled to call Kuantan four out of five weeks.

In a statement, the Singapore-based A.P. Moller-Maersk subsidiary said the tweaked IA-2 service offers the benefit of a direct Kuantan–Xiamen/Japan/Hong Kong link, enabling connections ex Hong Kong to the whole of North Asia and Greater China.

It also provides a direct service from Kuantan to Thailand.

Further, it offers an additional service from Kuantan apart from the existing THA3 service, providing two sailings from Kuantan every week.
