Jugro Transport International Phils Corp recently hosted the 10th Global Alliance Corp (GAL) annual general meeting (AGM) of international agents at the Hotel Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.

Themed “Waves of Changes, Oceans of Opportunity”, the meeting was attended by 64 participants from 36 countries.

The AGM was presided over by GAL managing director John Chiu. Members were welcomed by Capt. Avinash Batra who congratulated GAL founders for 10 years of a successful partnership.

AGM speaker former Philippine Consul General to Rotterdam Henk Mejiboom spoke about how each GAL member agent benefits from the global orientation of other members.

He added that while companies compete on the global stage, maintaining the local identity of an organization is crucial to continue adapting to the culture it serves.

Mejiboom noted that GAL members can maintain their competitive edge through close collaboration and a strong management team that can easily move with the times.

He pointed to a trend in logistics — integration of several functions in one organization – as a means to improve quality and speed of delivery, in the process helping bring down costs.

At the end of the AGM, the GAC flag was passed on to the next country host, Dubai. Jugro Transport president Jaime Roxas and his team were also credited for successfully hosting the event.

GAL is an international forwarding and logistics company, with operations around the world, through a global network that covers Asia, Oceania, Europe, Africa, North and South America.
