JHCI Holdings, parent of U.S.-based third-party logistics provider Jacobson Companies, announced its acquisition on August 31 of all of the assets of Singapore-based air- and ocean-freight forwarder G-Link Express Logistics (G-Link) in a move to boost its Asia operations.

The purchase of G-Link’s express network in Asia will supplement Jacobson’s existing services in Hong Kong and China, as well as expand its capabilities in Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia, a Jacobson Companies press release said. G-Link will be immediately renamed as Jacobson Global Logistics.

“With the integration of G-Link’s operations in north and southeast Asia, Jacobson Global Logistics has expanded services to 16 locations across the Pacific Rim,” said Peter Knapp, president of Jacobson’s International Logistic Services.

Founded in 1968, Jacobson Companies offers end-to-end supply chain management solutions around the globe. It operates more than 35 million square feet of warehouse space worldwide with approximately 7,000 employees.
