Shipping Lines-Freight Forwarders Convention

THE Philippine International
Seafreight Forwarders Association, Inc. (PISFA)
will conduct the 1st Shipping Lines-Freight
Forwarders Convention on October 26, 2004, at
the Heritage Hotel in Pasay City.
Shipping lines such as APL Co.
Pte Ltd., COSCO Philippines Shipping, Inc.,
Filsov Shipping Co., Inc., Hanjin Shipping,
Hyundai Merchant Marine Co., Ltd., OOCL (Philippines),
Inc., RCL Feeders Phils., Inc. and Wallem Philippines
Shipping, Inc. have been invited to participate.
To be discussed are new rules
and updates on services of shipping lines as
well as shipping and logistics procedures and
practices in different trading countries. Also
for discussion are topics revolving on the following
subjects: reefer industry; transhipment ports
(Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan); Asia-Europe,
and US trades; and the Intra Asia Trade Agreement.
Participation fee is P600 but
PISFA members get to pay only P400.

THE Maritime Law Association
of the Phils. will hold a seminar on marine
insurance claims on November 5, 2004 at the
Juan Luan Room of the Cebu Grand Hotel.
The whole-day seminar will feature

The insurable interest of shipowners and
lenders where vessel hypothecated by bottomry
and/or respondentia (Atty. Alex Tiongco,
lecturer)

The various aspects of concealment and
representations which affect the validity
of marine insurance claims (Atty. Domingo
Castillo, lecturer)
