H1 domestic air cargo volume in PH down 44.21%

CARGOES handled by domestic airfreight forwarders in the Philippines in the first half of the year dropped 44.21% to 21.352 million kilograms from 38.273 million kg year-on-year, mainly due to a double-digit dip in consolidations, data from the Civil Aeronautics Board showed.

Consolidations plunged 60.76% to 12.364 million kg from 31.511 million kg in the first half while breakbulking dropped 13.01% to 9,185 kg from 10,559 kg, according to the figures.

However, direct shipments provided the bright spot, rising 33% to 8.979 million kg from 6.751 million kg.

LBC Express Inc. remained the top airfreight forwarder with a 30.08% market share, handling 6.423 million kg of the total.

AP Cargo Logistics Network Corp. also maintained its No.2 position with a 17.49% market share, or 3.734 million kg, and Airfreight 2100 Inc. in third place with 9.05% or 1.932 million kg.

Vaulting onto the first-half list to take fourth place was 2GO Express Inc., with a 4.78% share or 1.02 million kg., compared with the same period last year when it was not even among the top 30. 2Go Express was 17th in the overall rankings last year and advanced to 5th place in the first quarter of 2013.

In fifth spot was Kim Gold Cargo Logistics Corp., which jumped 10 places from 15th last year, accounting for 4.56% of the total with 974,458.50 kg of cargoes handled.

Former 19th placer Vintel Logistics Inc. climbed to sixth place with 3.04% or 648,447 kg while JRS Business dropped two places to seventh for carrying 628,079.04 kg or 2.94% of total.

Slipping four places was Ximex Delivery Express ranking eighth with 2.93% or 626,470 kg. AAI Worldwide Logistics (formerly Airlift Asia Inc.) leapfrogged from 17th place to ninth a 569,830 kg throughput or 2.67% share of the total.

Cargo Padala Express Forwarding Service Corp. ranked 10th with 527,810 kg or 2.47% of the total.

In the 11th to 20th places were Fast Cargo Logistics Corp. with 2.30%; Highlight Express Philippines Inc., 2.14%; Wide Wide World Express Philippines Inc., 1.96%; Libcap Super Express Corp., 1.91%; American Freight Forwarders Inc., 1.60%; Explorer Freight Corp., 1.52%; Non-Pareil International Inc., 1.34%; Argo International Forwarders Inc., 1.22%; ASP Airspeed Philippines Inc., 1.20%; and Germalin Enterprises Inc. , 0.91%.

Rounding up the rest of the top 30 are TNT Express Deliveries Philippines Inc. with a 0.78% share; Trans-Global Consolidators Inc., 0.54%; CBL Courier Express International, 0.47%; Makatiexpress Cargo Inc., 0.36%; GRM International 0.33%; Redgold Forwarders Inc., 0.23%; Skyfreight Forwarders Inc., 0.19%; Iris Logistics Inc., 0.18%; CTSI Logistics Philippines Inc., 0.14%; and Pambato Cargo Forwarders with a 0.11% share.  – Roumina M.
