OOCL KaohsiungThe G6 Alliance said it plans to carry out additional four void sailings within its Asia-Europe network “in response to changes in market demand.”

This comes after the alliance also issued two void sailing notices last month for the same lane, and had added there would be more canceled trips to come as the industry continues to be burdened by weak freight rates and overcapacity.

“As the Alliance continues to review its product profile, the following void sailings are planned for the subsequent services and weeks,” the group said in its latest notice released on August 18.

Voided is Loop 6 service in week 40, westbound ETA Kaohsiung October 1. The port of Kaohsiung will be added as a westbound call, while Jebel Ali will be inserted on the eastbound leg of Loop 7. The westbound Colombo and Xiamen calls will be added into Loop 4.

Loop 7 service in week 41, westbound ETA Qingdao October 05, is also discontinued. Qingdao will be added to Loop 4 on the westbound leg in the corresponding week, while Gdansk, Gothenburg, and Antwerp calls will be covered by Loop 5 on the eastbound direction during the same timeframe.

The other void sailings are Loop 4 service in week 42, westbound ETA Ningbo October 16, with the westbound Le Havre call to be covered by Loop 6 in the respective week; and Loop 5 service in week 43, westbound ETA Kwangyang October 23. The westbound Kwangyang and Busan calls will be added into other loops for that week.

Recovery plan

Meanwhile, G6 also released more details on its “recovery plan” in relation to its earlier announcement to carry out additional four void sailings for September within its Asia-Europe network.

“Further to the G6 Alliance announcement on July 27, 2015 for the voiding of four Asia-Europe sailings in response to changes in market demand, we would like to provide you with further information on the recovery plans,” said OOCL in a press statement.

For void sailing Loop 6 APL Chongqing (ETA Fuqing (Fuzhou) on September 3, in week 36 on WB and ETA Southampton on October 6 in week 41 on EB), Loop 4 OOCL Korea on Week 36 adjusts with added calls to Nansha and Colombo. Port rotation is Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian, Nansha, Singapore, Colombo, Port Said, Le Havre, Southampton, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Port Said, Jeddah, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Ningbo.

Also, Loop 5 Hyundai Dream on Week 35 adds Fuqing (Fuzhou), with port rotation of Kwang Yang, Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Fuqing (Fuzhou), Yantian, Singapore, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Southampton, Singapore, and Kwang Yang.

Loop 7 Hyundai Pride on Week 36 WB adds Kaohsiung and on Week 41 EB adds Jebel Ali, with rotation as follows: Qingdao, Shanghai, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Yantian, Singapore, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Gdansk, Gothenburg, Antwerp, Southampton, Jebel Ali, Singapore, Yantian, and Qingdao.

Other details for this axed trip is that the Xiamen shipment is to be connected to Loop 1 NYK Venus on Week 36 via transshipment either at Hong Kong or Singapore. Antwerp shipment is to be transshipped at Rotterdam on SBX feeder. Week 36 Loop 5 Hyundai Hope (or Loop 7 Hyundai Pride) can serve Antwerp direct call but transit time is long, said the statement.

For the second void sailing featuring Loop 7 OOCL Bangkok with ETA Qingdao on September 7, 2015 in week 37 on WB and ETA Rotterdam on October 12, 2015 in week 42 on EB, the Bangkok call is to be phased into Week 37 Loop 4 with a Qingdao call. Port rotation is Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian, Singapore, Port Said, Le Havre, Southampton, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Port Said, Jeddah, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Ningbo.

Additionally, Loop 5 Hyundai Hope on Week 36 adds Gdansk, Gothenburg, Antwerp, and Southampton calls. Port rotation is Kwang Yang, Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Singapore, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Gdansk, Gothenburg, Antwerp, Southampton, Singapore, and Kwang Yang.

The third void sailing—Loop 4 Shanghai Express with ETA Ningbo on September 18 in week 38 on WB and ETA Le Havre on October 21 in week 43 on EB—calls for Loop 6 OOCL Berlin on Week 38 to add a Le Havre call. Thus its port rotation will be Fuqing (Fuzhou), Kaohsiung, Xiamen, Nansha, Shekou, Hong Kong, Singapore, Colombo, Southampton, Le Havre, Antwerp, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Jebel Ali, Shekou, and Fuqing (Fuzhou).

Finally, with void sailing Loop 5 featuring Antwerpen Express with ETA Kwang Yang on September 25 in week 39 on WB and ETA Rotterdam on October 31 in week 44 on EB, Loop 4 APL Temasek in Week 40 adds Kwang Yang and Busan calls. The adjusted port rotation is Kwang Yang, Busan, Ningbo, Shanghai, Yantian, Singapore, Port Said, Le Havre, Southampton, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Port Said, Jeddah, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Ningbo.
