Emirates Shipping Line will start a new Far East-Middle East service early next month linking Korea and central and south China directly to the major Middle East ports of Dammam and Jebel Ali and making a direct call to Thailand.

In an official statement, the Middle East ocean carrier said it has taken slots on the Asia-Middle East service of Hanjin Shipping in order to offer its new Far East Gulf Express Service (FGX).

Under the slot-charter deal, the FGX will offer three sailings each week, with the first ship to depart from Pusan on September 3, 2012.

The port rotation is Pusan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Yantian, Singapore, Jebel Ali, Dammam, Port Klang, Singapore, Laem Chabang, and Yantian.

“The FGX service offers a superior regional coverage from Asia to Middle East with Emirates now having multiple, weekly coverage in this important trade lane,” Emirates Shipping stated.
